TATTA

The Blue Water Ball

The journey I am about to recount, as unbelievable as it may seem, took place in the private cinema of my dreams. There, I floated away to the stars in a soap bubble filled with popcorn and experienced the most fantastic story ever told.

Part One - The Departure

Reading sample

When you look up at the sky and a star touches your heart, its light will envelop you and carry you away to an enchanting fairy-tale world hidden far beyond the stars.

This is where the story of Prince Tatta begins. The land of Ebenherz was as colorful and shimmering as the dust on a butterfly's wings. In this wonderful place, the enchanting Queen Atima gave birth to a prince named Tatta.
The happy father, King Timascha, filled the night sky with fireworks in the shape of hearts, which could be seen far beyond the land of Ebenherz. Surrounding Ebenherz were the lands of Ebenleid, Ebenfreud, Ebenstolz, and Ebenmalvergessen. They rejoiced with their neighbors over the newborn prince, and so it came to pass that the whole of Ebenland celebrated the prince's birth together for seven days and seven nights.

With the silver rain, time also passed in the land of Ebenherz, and Tatta developed into a bright, lively, clever boy with a big heart. For him, all living creatures were unique, wonderful, and perfect at the same time.

The prince had many dreams, but one was very special and different from all the others: a journey to the mysterious Blue Water Ball.

Part Two - The Journey

Just as a thousand rabbits hop back and forth across a meadow, crisscrossing each other, so too did the prince's thoughts suddenly scatter. He was worried about the upcoming journey. Fear overwhelmed him in a flash, and his joyful anticipation suddenly turned to apprehension about the uncertainty that lay ahead. But this fear lasted only a moment, for Lolalexika's words came to him. The fear of the unknown is as natural as the air we breathe, Tatta. It is part of life. Fear develops the quality of unrestricted attention, and the senses become as sharp as the knife blades of the court master Messerjokkel. You are a child of the universe, a bird of the sea. You have been given everything you need to glide skillfully through the waters of life. There are no boundaries, there is no horizon, everything is infinite.

Part Three
The End

The sky in Ebenland faded to shades of gray, the snoring ducks that had been frolicking near the Kujamana on a lake stopped snoring, and the laughing bears stopped laughing. The birds chirped only once every hour for the length of an hourglass turn. All of these were clear signs that something momentous had happened. King Timascha and Queen Atima of Ebenherz sensed that their son was in danger and summoned the wisest and most intelligent minds of their country and those of their neighbors Ebenstolz, Ebenleid, and Ebenmalvergessen. The kings of the individual countries also traveled to express their solidarity with the royal couple. The sand trickled quietly through the hourglass as time passed, slowly, like the old wise snail lady Lolalexika, or as fast as the arrow of the archer Feilikus Schnellundfut.
